Dr. Oren Michaeli specializes in hand, nerve and microsurgery in New York City and New Jersey. He performs various operations, ranging from carpal tunnel release to emergency hand and finger replantation. His particular areas of interest are treatment of regional paralysis through nerve transfers, tendon transfers or muscle transfers. Dr. Michaeli is committed to improving the quality of life of his patients through individualized treatment plans.

Dr. Michaeli received his osteopathic doctorate from Midwestern University Glendale, AZ. He then went on to complete a General Surgery Residency from NYU Langone Hospital Long Island, where he developed a strong base of knowledge and skills in all aspects of general surgery, including trauma, minimally invasive techniques, and surgical critical care medicine. Realizing his passion for hand and nerve surgery, Dr. Michaeli further completed a Hand and Microsurgery fellowship from world-renowned Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, KY, where the first hand transplant was successfully completed. He then went on to complete an additional fellowship in Advanced Reconstructive Microsurgery and Brachial Plexus Surgery at Ganga Hospital in India, which is | the referral center for all complex reconstructive operations in south Asia. Ganga performs the highest number of brachial plexus reconstructions of any hospital in the world.

Dr. Michaeli resides in New York City with his wife and two children. He enjoys cooking, hiking, live music and spending time with his family.
